Standard Headunit But What Speakers?

  330i, Alfa 147 & SP1
Ok so for now I've decided to stick with the standard headunit but I can't handle the standard cracking speakers anymore.

Any suggestions on what speakers would sound better? I may in time install an amp but for now I just want something I can listen too.

Cheers

a decent headunit will make far more sense and make far more difference than changing the speakers.
Its the poor headunit amplifier thats causing the distortion

I'm getting terrible crackling from dead speakers. No point installing standards again.

Also having troubles finding a headunit which doesn't stand out a mile. If I found a headunit which didn't look bad when intalled I'd get one. But have yet to find one.

becker grand prix is the nearest looking to standard.
Pair of pioneers for about 65 quid would be a reasonable upgrade.
Pioneer TSE-1376.

Just do your speakers- that's all I've done and it did make a huge difference. Just choose carefully as you'll need a set with a decent sensitivity (eg. check out the Focal range and aim for 92dB + sensitivity.)

The speakers are definitely the weakest link in the RSC.
