Standard Headunit reading error

Battery went so needed to put code in put it in once then battery was out again, put it in wrong once then right, battery out again and put it in once wrong and only says error now, unplugged it etc and now it just says error which I can't get rid of

Car is a Ph1 172, standard headunit.

Wait a few mins with the ignition on with the error code up, after a few minutes it will go back to code input, thats what happened to me.
