Standard headunit with sub?

I believe it's possible by hijacking a signal from the rear speaker wires and using a sub with a built in LPF. Not something I've done myself though.

Just use Highlevel input from rear speakers, affects speaker performance though. only downside to a sub in this car.... well mine anyway is I ended up chasing rattles everywhere and adding foam to all screws and clips to stop it, have nice bass from from my 10" Rockford now though, but sounds always better when using a separate amp as there is minimal distortion and interference.

the thing that makes the biggest difference is the unit itself in terms of Quality, Sony are ok as long as you get the 4x52W units not the 45W ones ( 52W ones all the same sound quality regardless of price ) other than that go for Alpine, not Pioneer or Kenwood, JVC they all crap, just check out the frequency levels, the bigger the range the better, I mean starts with a very low Hz to a high Hz rating, none of this all about the highest spec. then just some decent components, running an amp off these all round will be as good as a sub in a small plastic box like a clio and you'll actually get to hear the tunes rather than just thumping bass which ultimately will piss people and you off after a while lol

Sorry Pioneer are just Sharp in disguise, much like Sony TV panels manufactured by LG I think, just an upmarket brand so to speak and use the same part suppliers.

All my opinion only but I do like my tunes and experimented with quite a lot of stuff as have a mate who works for a Car Audio dealer in Byfleet, best you can get are the Rockford Fosgate ones, discontinued now but they pop up on ebay and cannot be beaten outside of factory installed Harmon kardon and Bose stuff, on the general market Alpine are the best bet once you get to the £200 bracket, Pioneer just look good is all in my opinion.
