Starter motor

My car wont turn over, its a 1.4 rt 1996 mk1. i dont know if its the starter motor is there any way of telling, because i dont want to take it to a garage. And how long would it take to fit a starter motor?

That car is prone for the starter wire coming loose, get under the car and plug it back in to the starter motor.

All lights come on as normal yes?

Just push start it if it starts its the starter moto if not then its likly to be something else.

Yeah push start gets her going, some one is coming over tomorrow, he will probably get underthere and have a look so i'll see what he says. hopefully its the loose wire.

Depends if if tries to turn, if nothing happens, any power getting to it, etc..

Could be a few things.
