Starter motor?

Have done a quick search but couldn't find anything.

Mate of mine has a 03 plate 1.2 16v Clio, starts fine but sounds like the starter motors sticking for 1-2 seconds afterwards.

Is it likely to be the starter motor or something else?

The switch gear is sticking somewhere, only two places it could be - ignition or starter motor. Start with ignition, take it off and clean it up and WD40 it. Then if no fixed, go to the starter motor and take it off to give it a good clean. See how you get on
