starting problems

cleaned it this morning, and cleaned bits in the engine bay, noticed the neg terminal was loose but on. so i tightened it. came to start it. all lights came on then died. no lights, no engine start.

so i got out locked it with the blipper, opened n got back in, same again

so after about 5 times it was fine...?

lost all me memory and the cd code n that, but thats not to worry about.

then i leave it for about 3 hours. come back to it. it kicks over but no start? again about 5 times. and did it again the next time i started it...?

it seems to be ok now but whats going on? :S oh batterys fine by the way i tested it

i didnt jet wash it, i ran a sponge over the engine cover and dried it off, would water running down there do this for 2 days running?

i dont know whether this was a coincidence, i just shut the door and plugged in the seat belt and it started?
