Stealth Box

Im thinking of buying one of those Stealth Boxes from autoacoustics, but Ive also concidered building one myself or more like 2 - one for the sub and one for the amp and fire extinguisher.

Has anyone done this on their own and do they want to share/sell ideas and maybe even templates and so one.

mxfuk,

they have a deal that if you bought 2 sub boxes or a sub box and amp box it was 250. think they are 150 on their own, which is expensive but its carpetted, shaped etc, so much less hassle, had to spend the pay rise on something :D

they do two types of amp box as well, either top mount or recessed... ive got a top mount cause might get one of the kenwood music kegs so will screw it onto that.

Thanks Ian,

Tempted to get both boxes myself now! How far out does the amp box stick?

Just one more thing - Which sub have you got for it?

Thanks

Max

Dunno how far they stick out yet. if they come monday am, theyll be in monday pm or tuesday. When they are ill get some pics taken and up on my site. to be honest not bothered about how much they stick out, at least there will still be room for some booze in between :)

Ive got a Rockford Fosgate RFP3212 (12"), the sub box is going on the passenger side and amp box on driver side.

IAN

Id really like to see those pictures when youve installed them - especially the subboxz.

When you upload the pictures could you mail me the link or else you could mail them directly to me - mailto:SLJ@webspeed.dk">SLJ@webspeed.dk

Pictures OK, but my concern now is the internal size of the nearside cabinet - only 21 L - wanting to keep as much space as possible - which units do you all recommend or what units are you fitting.

Ive got my boxes (sub & amp) now and put them in last night, sounds excellent but the drivers side one (amp) does take up quite a bit of room. I didnt have time to take any pics as it was getting dark; Ill try and take some tonight and put them on my site.

SLJ, youre right, the nearside box is tiny. The offside one is 1.24 litres which is fine for most 10 or 12" subs, but 0.75 litres is way too small for anything above an 8" sub unless its optimised for a small sealed enclosure. I think the wadding they use on the inside of the boxes helps to give the impression of a larger baffle though (ie. fools the sub into performing like its in a bigger box!), so perhaps its ok. Ive ordered a pair of stealth sub boxz which should be coming tomorrow, Im putting Vibe 10"s in them. Should be interesting to see how the sound differs from the different sized enclosures.

jesus!!

they are good if you have money to waste!, why dont you make your own it cant be that dificult! perhaps i should make em and flog em on here!! probably copyrighted or some stupid thing!!

have a look at this link, it will give some ideas if you want to build your own:

See you didnt go for the flush mount amp box...they are worth the extra cash...i will post pics whn ive fitted mine!

I got mine this morning, but theres a couple of problems. Firstly the holes have been drilled wrong for my subs, theyre too close together, so Ill need to redrill them. Secondly the mounting depth on the nearside box isnt sufficient for my Vibe PT100 sub! Im gonn ahave to order a spacer ring now. I only need one but Ill haver to pay for a pair. And a tenner delivery for 2 small bits of MDF seems a bit excessive! I reckon Ill have to order some of those trilight cooling fans to make up the value of the order and spread the postage cost a bit!
