steelies tyre stretch help :):)

just bought some 16x6.5 steelies and im gonna buy tyres this weekend. They are the same as the spare in my boot which is running 205x55x16 just now. What tyre size do you think would be best, looking for a large stretch but keeping hte tyres quite large in terms of profile to fill the large arches. It wont be getting driven hard anyway due to my baby being due in the next few weeks so i can take it quite far

yeah not sure about your sidewall ratio if your current is 205/55
you won't want 165/55 surely

im not sure how its gonna be, ill give it a bash. I was gonna get them banded but my alloys are gubbed the now and my tyres are running low so i need them on the now for mot next month :/ what u think then 165x45

found a few examples. i reckon its gonna be 165x50x16s

165x50 on a 15x7

165x50 on a 6.5 looks minted imo

i havent got them in the post yet alex. The meganes are four stud(the sports are 5), the same as the clios. Ill get pics up when i get the tyres on this weekend. also lookin at really cheap lowering springs so hopefully should be looking good real soon just need so start savin to get the sports bumper sprayed and smoothed

Ive got some 15""x 6.5j for my ph1!! I painted them semi matt black on saturday they look mint. Im not sure if to go down the 888 or euro route yet. Iv seen some steels on a megane last week thought they were 15's similar design to mine but 16's fine too... love this thread keep it goin are your steels gona be brand new? Have u thought about banding them??

they are black 16s from the new shape meggy. im looking at gettin them banded byt dont have the money just now and need them on for mot next month so will be stayin at 6.5 just now
plans in the next few weeks is banded steelies, slammed and sports bumper smoothed

Your plans sound sweet, looking forward to seeing this. I'm in the same place not quite got the funds to band the 15's yet so gona chuck some 888's on for now.. also not sure how much width I could get away with on a ph1 172 am thinking 7" or 7 1/2" fronts with 8" or 8 1/2" rears ?

If they are 6.5 then i reckon you should band the fronts 1 inch and the rears 2
