S2 106 GTI
Hi, I put a post up in the suspension section about it clicking - well its not the suspension, its somthing to do with the steering. I first thought it was the strut tops clicking but it sounds like its 'around' the rack area. I jacked up the car and had a good look around but couldn't see or hear anything. As with the strut tops it only does it when satationary, not when your on the move...
I thought i would get some rough ideas and advice 1st before i drop it into Renault.
I have changed the manifold too a 182 one a while back and I think it started after that.
I have checked all the bolts and the steering rack and all seems well, even when on the floor i have been under the car feeling the subframe and steering rack whilst someones turns the wheels until it clicks to find if anythings loose...and its all good??
only thing i did find strange is that the drivers drive shaft had a bit of play in it when the car was off the ground?? - but the clicking souds like its from the passenger side??
