Steering pulling to right when accelerating after a clunk noise? Wishbones?

Hey. The other day after I got my tracking done u pulled up to a junction to hear a loud clunk at the front end. The tracking guy said he noticed it was pulling to the right when accelerating and thought it was just torque steer but it's not as it's low down the power band.

What could be the problem? Also it just feels generally skittish, like it's pulling me all the time left and right when driving along. Checkedbrakes and they are not sticking at all. Feels like it's inthe steering area!

I've just had new inner and outer track rod ends fitted hence the tracking being done.

Could be wishbones have snapped? Maybe that's the sound I heard? Or could a bush have failed?

What sort of checks should I do please?

Many thanks, Dan

  Many.
First thing I'd do is jack it up and try to move the wheel at 3/9 and 6/12 points, checking for any amount of movement.

Secondly, I'd check the lower balljoint isnt sloppy as f**k, and is tight in the hub (Hole in the hub can become enlarged), and check the rack is tight to the subframe etc.

Basically, get under there, give it all a good check and wiggle.

Thank for the reply dude.

Just checked it all, no play what so ever doing the 93 and 12 6 checks. All seems to be really tight there. Also checked the arb and bushes, dogbone and steering rack bushes for play but there doesn't seem to be a problem there.

This is so annoying as I want to enjoy my car :(
