steering rack part2 pic/vid

after my post yersterday, got down there again today, n found wot people were talking about...n got a better vid too

on the pic below, with the arrow....... im guessing this is where people have put a bolt thro, or have welded up around?

Also, while moving the rubber cover, i noticed a bit of broken off plastic lodged inside it....there woz only 1 half tho?? not sure where the other half is and i dont even know if it was meant to be there anyway?

thats it. the bol goes just behind the red arrow, in the flat part

that plastic part is probably between the rubber hood and the steering column

my column is fuked too. but engine may be comin out for new box and clutch so i think ill fit another one then.

bit scared about taking the lump out myself though. bit of an amateur! lol

Just weld it up. Thats exactly as mine was. It can be welded in situ. I know of a good welder in norfolk who can do it for about 30 notes, but any decent welder could do it. Dont have to take tghe column out either.

my mechanic refused to do it, said he didnt recommend it. i reckon it would be fine though.

I screwed some self tappers down there, one either side. sorted the problem till i can get it welded.

do u think u can get me some pics of it matey? its getting pretty bad n i havent had a change to look for a welder etc?? need a quick fix
