Steering wheel controls.

  1.2 Clio
I know this must have been asked 1 million times and i tried the search but to no avail....
I know i need this to fit my alpine stereo to my Mk 2 PH2 authentique (no display) just the stalk on the wheel.
Which adapter do i need, to fit from the convertor to the one for the stalk???
The connector i pulled out my standard unit looked nothing like any of the ones on here???

This has been a bit of a nightmare for me.
I initially had an Alpine h/u fitted a fe weeks ago but found that the steering wheel adaptor leads (Autoleads) were not compatable. So I then order the correct ones from InCarTec and go and have them fitted. Unfortunately they would not work either even though they are the correct leads. After contacting InCarTec (and finding them very helpful and obliging) I was told that Renaults can be "a nightmare" Apparently there are some "rogue" Clio's in that they were not wired in the same way as most and it looks like I have one of them.
Have returned the leads to Incartec who are going to text the leads to make sure they are OK and then going to send me two types to try.
Bloody frustrating :dapprove:

what year is your car beacuse in 2005 the wiring was changed and you need completely different leads. Personally I'd go for incartec leads because if I remember correctly autoleads require the removal of the dash.

If your car is pre 2005 then here are the one's you'll need:

If your car is >2005 then you'll need the can-bus leads instead:

You can tell if you have the new wiring system beacuse the standard headunits were changed slightly along with the wiring system. Pre 2005 HUs were called tuner list I think so if you have anything other than that then you probs have the new one (also the button layout was slightly different).

Hope this helps

Sorry it's a 2002. And i'll get those leads and give them a go then thanks. It's just the way they have such a strange adapter pictured. I know my connector is square and is either 8 or 6 pin. Its yellow from memory too....
Cheers anyway guys :)

Do you think the can-bus leads for a 197 would allow the use of the display not just the stalk?

I've got a mk2 ph2 and the display in mine shows the brand of the headunit when the stalk isn't in use and then shows the function of a button when it is used

hope this helps :)
