Steering wheel what you got ??

Hi

Needs some ideas , looking to buy a new steering wheel for the 172 , it will be a road legal track car , only being driven to the track and back
Have removed my steering wheel and airbag ready for a new one , however on looking around there are a huge amount of different sizes , materials and offsets , flat deep etc

What have you got and how big ?? Lol that sounds weird but you know what I mean

had an omp GP 330mm and found it horrible, changed to a 350mm omp WRC and love it

Oreca 330mm suede, with a OMP spacer.

Mcgill motorsport on ebay sell 330mm suede wheels with a 3" dish so you can get a much better driving position, they only cost about 38 quid too

Mines an omp 300mm trecento in leather.

Perfect size IMO. I had a 330mm one and found it too big and it looked ugly.

The faux leather ones don't have a stripe mate

OMP Targa Suede 330mm, best one IMO.

Same shape as the Oreca and Sabelt Renaultsport.

OMP or MOMO one fits.

Just make sure it's got the tabs for the steering angle sensor if you don't have a cup.

Nope! I had an omp 330mm one without a stripe. The stripes only come on real leather and suede. They're not on the fake leather ones

Yes mate, last time I gave the steering wheel a quick clean with some warm water and fairy liquid impressive results TBH.

@Fletcher What spacer/boss are you using? Looks like it brings the wheel a bit closer to you which is what I'd be looking for. Still reach the stalks ok?

Momo boss, and Lifeline QR boss (expensive iirc I paid around £200 for it) brings the wheel out 50mm. I can still easily reach the stalks though mate.

I have one of these, it is really good if you don't want to remove the wheel with a quick release type and it gives you options for the amount you want to space it out.

@imprezaworks have a look on larkspeed.com for momo boss still the cheapest at about £56 quid. Also @leeds2592 B&G spacer is considerably cheaper through them

You might be better with a momo boss mate as ive read that omp ones are harder to fit the cruise control wiring through, ive got omp one on mine and it fit fine and does self cancel the indicators despit what people say, i dont have cruise though as its a cup
