Stereo Dead?

hi all- I have a standard stereo in my 182 which was working fine this morning....got into the car at lunchtime and stereo wont turn on!!?? are they known for blowing fuses etc or is there anything else I should look out for?

Does the display still light up when you turn the engine on? or does it now only light up when you activate the headlights?

Mine popped a fuse randomly the other day CD player and display both stopped working, display would only light up when i turned the headlights on.

was lucky mine still had the spare fuse in the fusebox cover!

My display is on well the time and temp are on there but nothing happens when i press the on button on stereo...i just tried the fuse bu did not help?? Am unsure what the deal is :/

check the fuse (passenger side dash end), also if you have a volt meter, check there is 12v's on the ISO connector.

So got a volt meter onto the back of the stereo and there is power there so am i right in thinking the head unit is dead?
