sticky throttle!

Morning all,

I have a 172 cup with omex 600 and ph1 pedal conversion and lately the throttle seems to be sticking when coming to a stand still and revs to about 2000 rpm until I put my foot under the accelerator pedal and then it goes straight down to idle.

I was just wondering whether any of you lot on here have had the same prob?

fitting a new throttle cable is the usual cure as it wears out inside and starts sticking in the liner.

WD40 solves the problem, just put a bit under the bonnet where the cable goes into the housing

Tried it Laura, but still doing it and driving me absolutely mad! Not enjoying the car at the mo tbh!!!

fit a new cable as somone else suggested. they used to fray near the bulkhead gromit

check the spring on the throttle body they weeken with age

Already have Ben and not catching on anything. Sprayed somemore WD40 on it Yesterday and seems fine today. I guess I will just have to see how it goes during the week on the drive to work and back!
