Stiff First Gear

Is this a common occurrence on Clio's when cold? From what I've looked at on old threads it seems like a few people come across this.

I had my gearbox reconditioned and the selector seal sorted by a local Renault specialist about 5 months ago and it was initially stiff to get into first gear when cold. Throughout summer I never had an issue with it (possibly warm weather) and now it's getting colder it seems to have come back. It only seems to be first gear and is fine when the car is up to temperature.

Is it something I should be going back to them about or is it just a normal thing for Clio's? (I had a clutch put in at the same time too).

Mine does this occasionally, but fine after warmed up. I think an oil change helped it.

Mine was sometimes a little stiff getting into first when cold, a gearbox oil change and its improved a lot.

Edit- reading title only ftl, i'd imagine you had the oil changed, was it the correct oil?

It will have been topped up when the gearbox refurb was done so I would imagine they know which type to use being Renault specialists.

I seem to recall reading one of the technical notes in Dialogys about this and it said to simply inform the customer that it was normal, mine certainly does it as well, hasn't bothered me at all after reading that note.
