STOP and battery lights

I had my brake pads and fluid sorted yesterday, and this morning, my STOP and battery light keep flickering on very faintly.

Does anyone know what the problem could be? As it is flickering, maybe it's a loose connection?

You should take it back to the garage and get them to sort it out

Simple first thing to check is that the cap has been properly tightened on the fluid reservoir, and that the fluid really is up to level.

Yeah sounds like brake fluid level.. or garage got bit of air. Happened to me had to have brakes bled. Take it back to garage

seems to point towards the Alternator.

its stop and BATTERY

not stop and handbrake symbol!


i did the front and rear pads, full fluid change, oil and filter change.

the fluid was fine, checked twice and the cap is tight.

just to note, the alternator conection was a bit loose, rusty and worn

wonder if it has come free

and yeah its defo the STOP and battery symbol that are flashing.

I will get the gimps doing my mot on friday to check the alternator!

it was pretty bad, but they will just fit a spade connection onto it

nice to see someone has done a bit of a search first rathar than belive that the battery warning light coming on must mean that someone has left the brake fluid res lid off

I had this.

Ignored it till my car wouldn't start one day and I ended up stranded 30 miles from home.

Not enough power getting to the alternator to start the car but enough to trigger the alarm/immobiliser confusing matters somewhat!

Was fixed by replacing the knackered battery.

Battery is most likly dead Halfords etc will check it or else check the alternator wiring and earths.

Take it to a garage and get them to check with there multimeter.

this stopped for a while but started again now, under acceleration in each gear

getting cam belt and aux belt changed this week so I'll ask them to have a gander

HAD THIS ON MINE TURNED OUT TO BE BRAKE FLUID WAS LOW, STOP AND (!) HANDBRAKE SIGN IS ON. HAD A LOSE WIRE ON ALTERNATOR AND THATS THE BATTERY LIGHT AND STOP...
