STP Injection Cleaner - I HATE YOU!!!

Car  RS Clio 200
put some in 2 weeks ago, and engine has been missfiring and juddering ever since.
its a 2002 172 with 44k on the clock so should be fine.

Anyway to cut a long story short - after missfiring, juddering and a chuffing awesome backfire, the engine light came on today - so its now sitting in renault awaiting inspection :(

this happened to me when i first got my car and it actually damaged the cat!! and it needed a new one!! i now use redex and have had no problems at least it allows you to use normal fuel at a cheaper price and still clean your injectors that more expensive fueld do..good luck

:@
hmmm no wonder is gone spaz on me... v-power and cleaner mix.... hmmmmm

on another note Fred, when is andrew gonna call me with a price for my suspension :P and a date i can come up and get it done

just run it on V-power, no need for any injector cleaner

Never had a problem myself with the STP stuff. And would have thought better in removing 44k miles of dirt than V Power would. Unless you have run on V Power/Optimax since day one there should be no need to cuse additives if the petrol contains it.

any fuel system cleaner is a daft "idea" in the first place tbh...the micro-filters in the injectors themselves can only be properly cleaned in a sonic bath. any additive is more likely to remove debris form elsewhere in the fuel system, which will the get trapped in the injector filters.

well its at renault anyway - so they can clean it all out for me LOL.
Just hope i aint damaged the engine really.

Fred - Pm sent mate
