Strange temperature reading.

  Clio 172 ph1
Hey there all of you Renault experts!

Me and some of my friends are building a endurance race car out of a Clio 172 ph1 but we came across a problem that we can't solve.

Our issue is that the tempguage at the cluster doesn't move, not even after several minutes of engine running on idle.

We bought Can Clip so we can read the actual temp from the ECU.
Problem is that inside Clip it shows 96° even if we disconnect the temp sensor and it never changes except when we fiddle around with the socket that goes in to the cluster, then it says 85° but jumps up to 96° again.

We opend up all the harnes and measured all three cables going from the sensor it self.
We have contact from the white cable going from sensor to the white contact block located at engine fuse box where it splits up and going to ECU pin53 or something like that (can't remember now) and also to cluster pin23. When measured we can se that the voltage drops when engine getting hot, after 5min at idle it drops down to around 1,7-2V
The yellow cable goes up to one of the small black relays where it splits to fuse box and when measured it has 12V all the way down to temp sensor.
The black cable goes down to earth point on gearbox where we also have contact.

When we started the engine for the time since we got it mounted we noticed that the fan started as soon as the engine started.
Now it does not.

Inside clip we can start the fan at both slow speed and high speed so we assume that circuit is fine.

We have searched around all over the place for the correct wirediagram but all we can find is for the ph2. Tempsensor on those cars only got two cables and they are not connected to the same pins as at our car, not even at the cluster.

We have changed the tempsensor but we get the exact same reading from this one.

Does some one got any ideas or does someone got a correct diagram for a ph1?

Best regards
Kristian
