Impreza's are crude and far from drivers cars, hence the understeer. Drivers cars dont understeer typically.

the day I take car advice from a kid who cant drive is the day I successfully manage to lick my elbow and eat my own head. Basic 182 will easily keep pace with most if not all base model turbocharged impreza's... that's just in a straight line, forget corners. I've driven every evolution of the Impreza bar the latest one, this is my experience of one, not a 2nd hand account of how good it is from a passenger seat with ZERO driving experience... anyway, dont know how Impreza's came into this :S

EXACTLY, base model, stick it up against a spec c, sti type 25 etc and we will see a different story. **** me off all you want, i know im right. if youve drive all these imprezas why do you own a clio?

we know a spec C's faster... but you said any scooby and the base model is the only one that's remotely in the same price bracket. And I own a Clio because I dont like Impreza's enough to waste my cash on one. It's cheaper to mod my Clio to the point it will blow most models away on a straight road and totally embarrass them through the infamous 'twisies'. I'd have an Impreza classic over a Glanza all day long, however I'd take a Mk1 2.0 or Mk2 2.0 over both.

In my experiance from having a play with few uk wrx's they have plenty grip and power to pull them out the bends but the clio appears to be able to corner just as quick if not quicker, and straight line there isnt much in it, impreza slightly quicker on the newer models.

my mate sold his 172 for one before selling it to buy another 172, cost twice as much to run, insure etc and once he got bored of the noise he was bored with it!

Scooby's are ok - they cover ground very quickly, and sound lovely. They don't feel 'alive' though...the best car moments for me have been in cars where you feel the speed -the closer to dying you are the more adrenaline you have....or something like that lol!

My 182 still isn't as exciting as my 205Gti Mi16 I had or the kit car.

it is one of the nicest sound 4 cylinder engines about, but the later models sound pants compared to the classics due to the equal length headers

Coz he can drive, Ive got a impreza STi Version5, Evo 6 and my clio is quicker through the twisty stuff as it is easy to set up for the corner and throw about as so light. Doesnt matter what the car is it is how you drive it. Any i can back up this claim as i have got the awards for winning my class in International and National rally championships.

im sure you will be able to find one from an enthusiast, theres 70,000 on SN, and most buyers are enthusiasts anyway
