Strips on mk 1 bumpers

Im bored with them, what can I do?

Do they come off and leave a nasty gap behind them?

Any one ever taken them off and smoothed the bumpers?

Any ideas welcome - not buying new bumpers though!!

They are part of the construction of the bumper, the silver/grey strip in the middle of them comes out, but that is it.

I suppose you could cut them down, firly flush and then fill them.

Somebody did a photoshop on here quite a while ago, if I remember rightly it looked a bit odd.
