strut top nuts/disc

right as i need new ones i rang renault

the fella on the phone didnt have a clue, he thinks its only a bolt that goes on to the shcoker piston top

but there one that was removed from my 16v was a disc/cup thing with a bit of rubber wraped around It and a bolt that was part of the disc cup bit

does any one have the part number, or know what i need to ask for, hes now asked me to go and see him, trouble is its 2towns away so il need the afternoon of work!

and i want them soon!

any one else know where i could buy them from?

OK the rubber it part of a mounting cup. It is indeed a metal nut with a rubber bit round it. According to the Haynes manual it is called an UPPER MOUNTING NUT and requires a 21mm swan neck spanner and 6mm allen key to remove it. It is safe just to remove it in situ as long as you dont move the car as it stops the top of the shock pulling through the chassis.

they seem to have the part i need

but it has no pic and they dont do they bolt

think i best see the dealers



i have asked paul at infinicar, as he has plent of clios and 19s and is sure to have these

Dont re-use the top nut, as they have a nyloc sleeve.

Safer to get a new one.

Renault would do the bolt, the bolt that I think you are referring to is the top of the suspension strut.

New top nuts cost about £30 for both sides from Renault.

as mine had to be ground off! odd i know but they were well f**ked about with it!

Mine came with the nut welded to the cup, I tried looking for my receipt last night for you for the part numbers, but I cant find it.

I will post the part numbers up if I can find it.
