Stud Conversion

I'll be running 10mm spacers on the front and no spacers on the rear.

I want to change to studs for ease of fitting and swapping wheels.

What length will I need for the front and rear. Also what thread and pitch are they?

Thanks chaps :)

I have the Puremotorsport kit, there good for 13mm spacers max.

I won't look back, amazing bit of kit, changing wheels is so much easier, and with how often they're on and off makes it worth while.

I've got the Pure Motorsport kit and I'm very happy with it. I felt confident buying them even though they were priced quite high because I knew they would be top notch and they are.

It is a good kit. The studs look like the AIT ones which are £5-6 each, so its very well priced in that respect.

Do you 'loctite' them in also with a soft type of gel or simple plug and play so to speak?

If they are bolt on spacers you could go as big as you like, then just screw the studs into the spacer. Rather than screwing the stud into the hub and sliding the spacer over.

Well I've found the same studs elsewhere for £52 posted. I've already got a set of nuts.

Everyone is out to make a profit though so with a bit of searching I bet I can find them cheaper.

^^ I thought that too - but one of my mates is actually a "bolt specialist" and apparently the longer length bolt is better even with a 10 or 15mm unused section going through the spacer. Apparently the stretch is a good thing.
Generally speaking the longer the stretch the less likely they are too rattle loose again.

It goes against logic but it's true

With just 10mm spacers the pure motorsport kit will be spot on

Not believing that I'm afraid mate, maybe generic studs at that price but not the same bullet tipped studs that PMS and turner motorsport sell.

Sorry but from first hand experience I dont beleive that at all on this specific application.

I understand that concept in terms of how the stud loads up the items its clamping together, but contrary to that my experience of wheel studs specifically is that if you have a longer exposed thread then the nuts are more likely to work loose.
I would assume its because of the amount of heat involved for this specific application combined how with relatively loosely (110nm ius naff all for the size and grade of bolt id have thought) they are torqued up in the first place, so I think that when they expand with the heat, it means there is no longer any stretch left, and hence they undo.

Sorry to disappoint you but they're the same 10.9 grade, bullet tipped, zinc coated with allen key recess.

Fair enough I done a bit of seraching before when I was looking last time and came up with nothing at that price, not these style anyway. I'm guessing you know the sellers at that price, £3 per stud.

A link perhaps, do they offer different length studs?

They are definately not to the same machine quality as PMS or Turner but they look okay for 50 note, another £32 or £24 for nuts depending what type you wanted.
