Stupid alert.........printer help please..

Just got new laptop with windows 7.

Tried installing printer software from disk but won't let me as it says system requirements are not met:dapprove:

You'll have to forgive me as I know next to nothing about computers and technology. Am I gonna have to buy a printer which is compatible with 7?

Hangs head for been stupid and expecting throwing of abuse.......

Only a basic one as don't print anything off really other than missus printing off assignments for uni.

First off, do you know if it's the 32-bit or 64-bit version of Windows 7 that you're running? Regardless, I'd download the latest version of software from here...

Make sure you install the software first without the printer itself being connected. I'm assuming you're connecting via a USB cable to the printer? 99% of them need the software first, before connection to the PC - though there are some oddball ones out there that do it the other way around.

Try the new software first, see if that complains about minimum system requirements. If the laptop came with Windows 7 installed, then it should be a newish laptop at the very least and certainly powerful enough to run a modern all-in-one machine off.

Darren S, You're a legend mate. Installed drivers and software from link and printer is now up and running. You can have a lolly for helping out the class thicko!!!!!!
