Styling Ideas for MK2 Clio S

Hey guys and gals, this is my first post on this site so im sorry if its the same as everyone elses.

Basically i have just bought a Wreg black clio S mk2 1.4.

I have already got smoke site repeaters & black lexus lights but wanna do a few other things to it. It came as standard with 14 inch renault multi-spoke wheels but im looking to purchase some bigger. Dont know the first thing about wheels tyres and lowering etc so hopefully you lot can help.

first of all 15s or 16s?

16 seems to be the norm but will i need to lower the car or modify the arches to avoid scraping etc? If so id personally try to avoid this as money is a minor issue.

Do any of you have any pics of your Mk2s on 15s as every pic i seem to see are on 16s? If so could you email them to me or recommend a site other than this i can veiw pics of Mk2s

Your help is very appreciated.

need to see pics first so we have a better idea wot we are dealing with. and possibly get some photoshops done on it so others can see if the mods are worth it.

basics 1st

lower and colour code, a sensible set of wheels (subtle is always good), id question the appearance of the lexus lights though, not exactly nice IMHO

then just save money for your next project/toy

as for eviljohns wheels they are the standard renault wheels from a clio dynamique post 2001 and should be 15" wheels fitted with 185/55 R 15 tyres if memory serves me correctly

and yes, the mk2 ph1 and mk2 ph2 have the same PCD and offset

get a cliosport sticker (Adds 20bhp !!!)

Get rid of lexus lights

put on mk2 phase2 standerd clusters

if its a mk2 phase 1, get quad lights and a b/b bonnet, or curvery bonnet.

Window tints

new alloys - 17s preferebly

slam it 60mm

bodykit

spoiler

Sports interior

if i can think of anything else to do, ill let ya kno, lol !!

Are the lexus lights not the way forward then?

Anyone know what is the best i could get for the existing wheels and tyres? They are immaculate! Not selling yet, just curious

if you think they look good, then ay i suggest a copy of max power or fast car for the parcel shelf

to be honest, they look awful, and have ony seen one worse modification for a car and that is 3 spoke alloys

yeah sorry about my harsh replies, but then you did ask for ideas

i treat everyone the same, newbie or moderator, and i call things as i see them, its nothing personal

fair play, no harm done. Just been reading some other posts on lexus lights, didnt realsise something so small could cause so many arguements. Oh well each to there own. saw them on another motor, liked them, bought them.

Just for the record, i dont read max power etc, my GF wouldnt let me anyway as they are technically p**n mags hehehehe. Probably why im here looking for ideas

Forgot to say I got £70 for my wheels and they look so much better on mk1s than mk2s! 2 of my tyres also needed replaced but they were quite tricky to sell because they were only 14"s.

M8 I rekon you should get a decent spoiler like the reno double spoiler, defently get it lowered about 60mm and stick with a decent set of 15s. keep the lights, the black clusters look mint on black cars the pictures just a bit dodgy at that angle.

what have u done to those lexus lights anyways? painted the inside?!?!
Nah mate, they came like that, im personally not that keen on the silver ones, tried them but they stood out like b*llocks on a bulldog on the black car so i opted for the black ones. A bit more discreet and original. Technically they aint lexus style lights. Just a different light conversion. Would only reccommend them on a black car tho.

PS Get some silvervision bulbs all round, makes a nice difference.

Just bought some for the front and back and they have made a lot of difference, particularly on the front as it has the dual lights. Looks tidy. Couldnt get my side repeaters off to replace the bulbs in them. They feel like they will break off if i go any harder. too much of a snug fit.

Cheers for all the feedback evil John anyway. should be fun getting shot of my alloys, ill try ebay. what did you pay for the dynamique wheels? They look tidy on yours!

PS Cheers jonesy, that what i thought. Ill get a pic and show you them straight on, rather than the dodgy angle as its doesnt do them justice.

David, those lights are the nuts, unfortunately when i bought mine i was not aware of those ones from K-tec. thinking about changing to those but there are other things i wanna do first. As for the silver on the outside of mine, they just came like that. They are the replacement for the smoked lexus lights that are more commonly seen.

You can get a set of aftermarket alloys 15" with tyres for under £300 colour code some bits get it nicely lowered some tints and maybe an exhaust and that should be enough unless you can get a 172 interior like Eviljohn has

The 172 interior is really nice if you can get hold of one for a decent price.

I got my wheels for £140 which seems to be an average sort of price.
