  Trophy 263 + 265

hi guys

looking to add a little bass to my 182.

dont want to spend hundreds on flashy stuff just something to give the speakers a hand with the bass.

i dont want to mess around fitting loads of wires ect.

had an all in one sub/amp in my old punto and that was just the job.

found this pioneer unit TS-WX10LPA Linear Power Amplified Subwoofer

The trouble with the Clio is that the head unit has no pre-outs which means tapping into your front or rear speaker wires for a sound signal (which the product supports according to your link).

Secondly you still have to run an amplifier wiring kit to the unit - so all in all, it is only 1 wire easier than fitting a seperate amp and sub.

An amplifier will wire up exactly the same as one of those babies, but with a seperated sub/amp, you have to connect the amp to the sub via speaker cable. This is the easiest part of the installation though.

Its about 1 hours work, or about 3 hours if youve never fitted an amp before.

It looks ok, but the main reason I would go against it is space.

Say you need all your boot space one day, its a pain in the arse to remove because the amp is built in. With a separate amp on the other hand, you can tuck that away somewhere (screw to the back of the rear seat, put under the drivers sear etc.), and that leaves only 1 simple connection between the amp and the sub to disconnect, instead of the power cable, the earch cable, remote turn on, and the input cable).

Other than that it looks like a smart little unit, and under £100 seems to be quite a good price.

Let me know if you need any more help/advice etc.

Laurence.

Its fairly straight-forward.

There is a block of 8 wires that comes from the back of the head unit. 4 go to the front speakers, and 4 go to the rear (there are 2 wires per speaker, 1 is positive and the other is negative).

Just connect some speaker wire to the positive of 1 side (say the left rear speaker), and the negative of the other (the right). This will make the bass mono (combining the left and right channels). Now all you do is run the speaker cable to the Pioneer unit.
