sub boxes

ok got ma new sub and im thinking bout building a ported box for it it says that 50 ltrs is the best for it so how do i work out what size that is??and how big a port should i use?

its just for loudness so whats the best bet?bandpass ported or sealed?

ps its a jbl gt3 12inch

sealed is much easier to make. very hard to make a good ported or bandpass box without getting some distortion. the ported or bandpass will however be about +3db over the sealed box, if you can get i right.
