I know that you can get convertors that use the rear speaker outputs and change them in bass, so u can attach a sub on to a standard head unit with out the pre outs?
What are these units called?
Are they any good?
Where can u get them from?
You can feed your rear speaker wires into the amp's 'In' connectors, then, assuming your amp has a low pass filter, it will cut out the mid range and treble and just amp the bass, putting it out into the sub.
I used to have an ///Alpine converter from speaker wire to RCA's in one of my setups. Dont know if you can get these anymore. Think it was about a tenner. You don't have to limit yourself to buy an amp with input terminals then.
