Subfram and Axle Questions?!?!?

  Turbo Convesion Started!!
Hi, as some of you probably know i was gonna put a volvo engine into my rsi but the mrs has it now and she couldnt afford to have it off the road!!!

i ave been offered a h reg 1.2 with a ruined engine, what i wanna know is, can i simply get a rear subframe with disks for the back and then lower it, then for the front get some willy/valver shocks, springs, disks, driveshafts and fit them

What i wanna know is if im doing the change to tht do i then need to buy 16v or willy lowering springs or can i buy any?

also when i pick up the front brakes what can i get away with as such as can i rip the lot out of the doner all together and swap it over, do i need a willy/16v subframe aswell to go with it or not?

Basically i want to change rear axle to disks, and uprate front brakes to 15v and driveshafts!!

Can someone please type me a list of exactly what i need to take from the doner car to do this!!!

Cheers

You can defo do the axle swap if you get a rsi axle.]

For the front brakes you need the caliper, carriers and bolts along with pads and discs. No need to uprate the driveshafts tbh

i know they fitted it was just the fact that they only made a 50mm spring due to the weight of the 16v engine, i was thinking about thw weight of the volvo engine thats all!!

So i can just change disks pads and calipers on the front, no need to change the driveshafts and subframe at front!!

Cheers Guys

Yup, you can just fit the 16v pads, discs, calipers and caliper carriers.

Volvo engine will be lighter so having a 50mm 16v spring on will probably only equate to about 40mm actually lowering. I'd stick with non-16v springs as your engine will be pretty much the same weight as a normal RSI lump and that way it'll cut out the guess work of lowering it by x-amount.
