Sudden drop in fuel economy

  Mazda Mx5 + Clio 172
My Clio 172 seems to be having a paddy.... had the tracking done the other day (badly may I add - see my other thread!) and since then the fuel economy has dropped from a pleasent avergage of 36mpg, to a much less satisfying 32mpg (at one point it went to 29.9 and i was most alarmed) I havent changed my driving style and I always drive smoothly and dont over rev or thrash the engine so I dont understand really what the crack is. Surely the tracking cant affect the fuel economy? The tyre pressures are all fine, so its not that, and there doesnt appear to be a blow on the exhaust so im a bit confused. Gonna take her back and get the tracking re-done tommorow anyway cos its wobbling all over the shop now so will see if that fixes it?
Other than that does anyone have any ideas? She does need her timing belt doing but wouldnt have thought that would effect the mpg? As u can tell my mechanical knowledge is a little limited ha ha
Many thanks to you all in advance!!

If they royally fucked it up and the toe is done super wrong so the tyres are both pointing in on the front I guess it would affect mpg.

lol at being alarmed at 32 mpg (wish I could acheive that - damn town driving). I'm alarmed if mine goes anything over 26ish.

Naa I still get 35mpg even though I've got a dodgy lambda sensor lol getting it sorted the weekend. You had the engine managment come on at all?
