Summer Wax.

Recommendations for a wax similar to Zymol Carbon that I've used for years, please.

It's for an Ultra Red car so I was thinking of Dodo Purple Haze?

Not really interested in Glasur... not sure though.

Fanks.

I would recommend vics aswell but it's not as good as Carbon and there in lies your problem mate. There is zero point buying a middle of the road wax after owning Zymol. It'll just feel s**t to use imo. You need to step up or stick with Carbon mate.

Get some Red Mousse Glaze or Prima amigo. I'm not sure if you've tried Amigo but your paint will never have felt as slick. Fact.

Get a pot of Glasur new or used and stop being ghey. Have you seen the water performance of Glasur? Ridiculous.

I was tempted by a bottle of Amigo yesterday so might nip back and get some this week. It's more of a filler product than anything else though, right?

Matt who came yesterday has Glasur and he's only local. I might see if he minds me borrowing it to do a panel.

Get Amigo. Honestly use it after polishing and before waxing. It'll blow your mind. It can also be topped with anything. You know how I feel about glazes and cleansers.

Get a shot of Glasur and see what you think. It's the only upgrade from Carbon imo.

Red moose glaze with Vic's on my panzer looked superb, Chris. Easy to use wax, but doesn't touch carbon or glasur.

Stick with carbon.

Glasur is better, but having used both for a few years now Carbon is my favorite, its cheaper and , IMO spreads better too.

I think youll know yourself about durability.

I just think carbon is a gem and glasur really isnt worth the extra £40 or so.

My bonnet is currently 50:50 of Bouncers22, and Amigo+Vics red.

The Amigo and Vics looks the dog's, but sheeting is very slow compared to the B22 next to it. Which is also slower than Glasur (obviously).

So in short, get Glasur.

I need a new PW and snowfoam

Snowfoam is ghey. G101 or Citrus if you have to.

I have to be honest Chris, I agree with Toby here, G101 is brilliant, Citrus power if you want to keep some of your wax (my understanding is it does still strip some of it away, despite the claims it is harmless)

Snowfoam has never personally impressed me and my bottle of G101 is the only thing I'm likely to use for stripping the car back.

Snowfoam is fun though!

I've been using citrus power since it was released and not found it to have any negative affect on a range of waxes and sealant from AF, DJ, GT, permanon. Beading and sheeting still remains also despite the claims on DW that the PH level of it will remove the permanon / C2 sealant. I tried and tested it to be fine for 5 months before I decided to remove it.

My snowfoam has long been redundant unless soaking after de-contamination

In which case, it makes it an even better product then :D

You're buying a red car?

I had no idea. I'd not seen you post about that at all...

Carbon.

Not Karcher. Kranzle or whatever gally said earlier.

If you machine polish it proper.....you wont need a pre cleaner :)

Chris won't need g101 unless he's doing it properly to start with and stripping everything back. After that just snowfoam/wash as normal.

The level of protection should be sufficient. I wants my Red car now.

Vics Concourse every day of the week on Ultra Red. Such a great wax on that colour. It really brings out the colour and is much more durable than people give it credit for. My UR R26 hasn't seen anything but Vics Concourse since it was 10 months old and think it looks pretty good for it.

Vics red isnt any better looking than carbon. Plus the water behaviour is utter b****cks on vicks.

No offence but that comment implies you're using it wrongly. I've been using it for the last 5 years on two UR cars and have yet to find anything that comes close for finish. It'll never outlast some of the nano-tech sealants but that's not what this thread is about is it? I thought it was about summer waxes and personally (from actual experience with UR) i've yet to find a better finish from a sub £100 wax.

I've no frame of reference to compare Vic Concourse being used on any other colours as both my 197 and R26 have been UR and I use Body Wrap on the ED35.

Compared to Carbon never mind Glasur it's water behaviour isn't even close.

Thankyou.

Vics is great yes. At £34 it far exceeds its price tag in looks and its ideal for someone thats got a budget of £40, meaning carbon is out of reach.....just (Id encourage scraping up the extra for it mind!!!).

However, its as though they had to compromise durability and water behaviour.

Sadly for vics, AG HD wax is also that price, so id be going for that instead.
