Sump plug washers

Is it essential to replace the sump plug washer when changing the oil? I'm not being tight, I just forgot to order one and now its going to be a pain the arse to sort one in time for the weekend.

you could probably get away with not replacing it, but generally people prefer to as its more of a guranteed no leaks

no it doesnt, ive done 3 oil changes on mine and not leaked once, only reason i didnt channge it was because i did forgot about it. now i can get all the parts cheap i will be from now on!

Is for the BMW Tony, Cup is still in warranty so will be going to Fred for service. No BMW garage near enough to work for me to get to tomorrow, local motorfactors are shite and it would be an hour round trip to GSF saturday morning if I was to wait untill then. Ideally want to do the oil change tomorrow night though.
