Sunday morning drive to Haynes Museum

Had a great morning today, headed off at 8:30 to the Haynes Motor Museum, had a good look round, took some photos, watched some VW Vans on the circuit (looked like a lot of fun!) then headed home again and cleaned the car...

Bought a good book whilst there "How to Photograph Cars", looks like a good read and I will be putting the techniques I learn into practice this summer!

Awesome mate

*runs back to dissertation*

lol, checked out the circuit and it looks very nice, FIA spec tarmac and several different layouts that can be set up. Every single car in the museum goes out on it at least once a year so they keep it in great shape.

We were only there for an hour and a half, but at £7.50 thats not too bad these days I guess. Its mainly for the real old stuff as they have quite a collection of cars going back 100 years + and loads of great cars from the 50s/60s which I like. Would be nice to see more race/rally cars and some modern exotica but I guess they would have to rely on some pretty special donations for things like that.

sorry chris i didn't mean what cars they had...i meant the condition

i looked over quite a few cars down there and my valver was easily much better quality, even though they are also enthusiast cars and have been stored....

Yep they've got two outside, tried to get some pics of the car next to it but it got to busy by the time I was leaving.

Are you running? I'm still first on the reserve list, so I'm hoping I get on (although hoping nobody has to pull out as well, if you know what I mean!), but I will be there regardless with my camera.

I really hate people that dont take pics of whole cars

I can understand the arty ones as they look superb but take full pics as well!! Ha Ha

I was specifically going for details, almost impossible to get a reasonable shot of a whole car in a museum as there isn't enough space. Plus you can get a full car shot anywhere, but its not everyday you can get up close to these sorts of things and study the details.

I take your point though, but thats what the circuit is for :)

That cossy looks just like my misses dads, will it be the same model? or are there diffrent engine sizes in these?

I think that they look fantastic, his is in white which is nice but i think i prefer that black. Very Very quick cars though, ive had many trips up cheddar gorge in it, cant beat it really.

I dont live to far from that museam might pop over some time, my mate went to that vw day in his beatle :clown:.

lol, do I look like a guy who should have chunky hands?! 6ft and a little over 9st, a bit of excess weight anywhere would be a blessing :)
