Yeah it ticks so many boxes. Obviously not the fastest of cars but there’s so much more to these than top speed. And the biggest upside is they look epic when there clean and shiny.

Fairly hefty bill incoming.

Service, Aux belt, gearbox oil, Spark plugs, both bottom ball joints, two tyres and a partridge up your pear tree.

However it’s in very safe hands up at AW Motorworks and I’m very much looking forward to driving it without the horrendous rattling that the ball joints had started to make!

Can’t recommend Alex highly enough. Fantastic communication throughout.

Took the car up to Alex at AW Motorworks yesterday to get the steering rack bolts tightened up. Thanks to @Danith I think I was able to diagnose where a slight knock was coming from.

Alex put the car on the ramp and tightened the bolts with no charge. What a legend.

So far so good.

Could be mate. @Danith said that the bolts appear to be tight but there’s a half turn to get them really tight. That’s exactly what Alex found yesterday.

Just had the wiper mechanism replaced and the wipers are no longer sitting half way up the windscreen. Seems that the recall on this item had been done a couple of years back but the replacement was already starting to seize up.

I’d thought that the judder that had been occurring for a while was from the coating I had on the screen but they’re completely smoothe now. Happy days.

I’d thought that the judder that had been occurring for a while was from the coating I had on the screen but they’re completely smoothe now. Happy days.

I hate - and I mean properly hate - poorly performing wipers and/or a poorly cleaned windscreen.
It can ruin the entire car for me. First thing I do when I get a new car is clean the screen properly, inside and out, new wiper blades and a hydrophobic coating of some description. Before anything else. I can then enjoy the journey without being irritated. 😂😂

s**t wipers and rattles... which unfortunately is a good summary of the VX driving experience currently.

Mine sometimes creak and squeak but i just spray some WD-40 on the spindles and be done with it

I had to change mine on my ph1 because it slowed down and then snapped. That had also had the recall completed for the replacement at some point but still failed. The new one was easy to fit and made a massive difference.

We got new polos a year ago. All 8 of them have the worst wipers I've ever used. From factory. Utterly unusable. Literally the only part it doesn't clean properly is in the driver's eye line.

4 mk4 clios ive had and all 4 have had the warranty wiper replacement, they are s**t (plus its always my wife that causes it with sticking them on when the blades are iced to the windscreen)
