Here we go... as requested. It worked on my manual sunroof very well and only cost a few pence. Guide is for a clio 2 mk1 but im sure others cant be too different.
Stage 1: Remove Sunroof glass
Open the sunroof to its first stage which should expose a small red button. Push this button towards the back of the car to release the handle. From outside the car lift the glass up vertically to release the hinges from the frame and lift out the glass.

Stage 2: Cleaning
Thoroughly clean any old grease, dirt etc from both the handle attached to the glass, the hinges and the clamp inside the car. Use a good degreaser to make sure it’s nice and clean. Dry thoroughly.

Stage 3: Silencing
Get hold of some 5mm rubber tubing from your local DIY shop. I got mine from Homebase; they sell it by the metre which is more than enough.

Cut a small length about 1 inch long and use a knife to make a slit down the side to open it up.

On the handle attached to the glass should be a metal rod running horizontal along the handle. Wrap the rubber tube around this making sure it’s a good fit (u may find that the tube wont reach all the way round but its doesn’t matter).

Now get your torx set out and make sure the securing screws are tight. Its important u don’t over-tighten these as it will damage the fixings, just nip ‘em up. Now grab some grease and smear it over the moving/connecting parts. I put some over the hinges and on the clamp inside the car where the handle connects.
Stage 4: Putting it back on
Hold the glass in an upright position above the car and slot the hinges into the frame. Gently lower down the glass to meet the rubber seal.

Now from inside the car click the handle back into the clamp. Rotate the rubber tube if necessary so that it pushes against the clamp when the sunroof is closed.

There, you should now have a silent, creak-free sunroof!!
