Superb day at Brands Hatch.

  2008 Golf GTI Edition 30

Thanks to Pootle, Stora, Day^ and Dave 182, I had a superb day at Brands Hatch.

Some highlights included:-

"Ill take any man...... as long as hes in leather"
"Follow me, I know where Im going" cue Day^ disappearing down the wrong exit from roundabout!! :)
"Those loos are far nicer" like any public toilets are nice!
"Im not playing with my boobs.....my bra strap is broken"
"Its not dandruff.......I sunburnt my head"
(All above quotes from Pootle btw ;))

All in all, a very good day.

Thanks to Renault and night.icon for sorting my tickets.
Photos to follow.

It did come out on the track! It was wild, very quick, put the power down coming out of druids and lit up the rear wheels!

mate you should have hung around after the last BTCC, the GT came out, it was yellow and did 2 laps, was very nice, he was power sliding it around druids!

You didnt miss much on the clio cup though, it was a very boring race, justg a procession!

My fave quote of the day was (again from Pootle):

"Its average" - referring to the Billabong Clio we saw, which pootle then preceded to post a cliosport flyer on the windscreen. however this was only after noticing their alloy wheels and tints. Obviously in Pootles eyes there must be a certain criteria for cliosport members, either that or those of us who drive "average clios" arent quite up to standard!! lol, ;)

yeah it was a good day, cliocup race was good alot of 3 wheeled action up at druids.

Think I saw Jas, silver 172 with a private plate?

The Carrera GT did about 8 laps on Saturday. Sounded very nice.

The Brands indy circuit doesnt seem to make good races for the Clios.

I didnt go in the end

I was on the M25 though so you could have seen me then?

Cheers Cliosport for the tickets - an excellent day was had by all I think.

Even found a traffic free entrance and a closer car park by taking the "wrong" route ! (oh and a car boot sale...)

It wasnt poor Pootles fault - Im blaming too much torque steer ;)

i had such a good day!! must say a BIG thank you to richy22 for passing his tickets on!!
and im not thanking anyone else, as you lot just picked on me the whole day!!! ;) (but i had such a good time...thank you!!)

in my defense...i flyered all those cars (well about 4 of them!!) and nearly got run over in the line of duty to put one on the billabong!!

and as for the bra, i dont think you realise just how much pain i was in!! (it obviously hurt more than your wasp sting CocoPops!! ;))

just trying to sort out my pictures...the majority of which are a fence and carlube sign!! should be ready tomorrow at some point.

and day^.... nothing more i can say, apart from great to meet you...eventually:oops:!!

i had the same problem with my pics too em, it is very difficult to get the camera to focus behind the fence at the cars!

My wasp sting has turned my arm red this morning!!
I woke up with it itching and stinging like hell.

Little Barstard wasp!!!!

Ill look at my photos tonite, but one thing I did do, was set the focus distance to beyond the fence, so at least the fence was out of focus, and hopefully the cars are in focus etc. Ahh well, what do I know! lol, we will soon see later! :)

You were sat just down the hill a tiny way from me!!!
we should have had cliosport chairs or flags so that we would recognise each other as we know there were at least 60 of us there with the free tickets!

and how do u do that? mine r okish but a bit dodgy

just uploading mine.......
on mine you can set a forced focus rather than automatic so i set it to infinity which focuses on the furthest point which should hopefully be behind the mesh of the fence.

mwahahaha :D

Of course I could take it down IF she desperately didnt want it there..... but it might be expensive to remove ;)

Youre wasting your time trying to take pictures of the races with a digital camera. Why do you think the pros stand there with great big lenses on SLRs?

yes but they are digital slrs, as long as you are close enough and have no fence in the way you are alright, they arent going to be as good as some multimillion pound digital SLR with a 4 mile lens but not bad for 300 quid.

Theres nothing wrong with the pics posted here

It all depends where you are to be honest.

Mine were taken with a Canon A60 digital camera (£99), however I was pretty close to the action.

Unless you have press/photo passes to these events then you just have to live with the circuits furniture im afraid...

haha i nearly went off down the m26 the wrong way as well at the round about down the road...... cos we got sent out a different way to which we came in! was a couple of people circling the round about trying to work out which way to go!!

all fine and dandy and my compliments to the navigator (gf Leah) for not screaming at me for asking the same question 100s of times (ie which junction we wanted off the m25 + m3 + A303)

hopefully NEXT TIME I WILL GET SPOTTED! lol
