Yo

I had the new badge arrive so started removing the old ones.

One of the previous owners has used SUPER GLUE to stick the sport badge on....

does anyone have any idea how to remove this glue and not harm the clear coat?

Help please!!

Did a quick search.

Need some acetone.... but why on earth is it so hard to find? B&Q nope, wicks nope, halfords nope, argh.

Got some white spirit and some odd adhesive gel to try

My Mrs got super glue all down her fiesta door....I won't say how, but, I wet n dry'd it off and then attacked it with the DA. Came up fairly well considering it was only a half arsed attempt

So.
must have been on there years.

Once it got soft it just pulled the paint off. All the way down to metal.

so now I have the letters sport in metal... great. Fantastic.

Good thing is that I'm actually going to wrap the boot anyway so I will do this tomorrow. Much earlier than planned but needs must.

dunno weather to wrap right over it or not... The damage might show through. Hmm

I Wanted to try and remove it using Nail varnish remover first, its safe on paint as i tested it on my spare bumper.
The Glue became soft and when I removed it the paint under it came off with it....

Nothing i could have done, I was also forced to use 1200 Wet and dry after to finish it up.

Its just another thing that's wrong with the car caused by previous owners, Little by little I'm sorting them. In regards to paintwork its all being wrapped so wont be an issue for a few years.
