  Clio v6

Carpets?

Radio & Speakers? ( replace these with 4 amps and 6 subs and a Bass box )

Headlining?

Glovebox lid?

Fit a lighter sports driving seat?

Aerial?

Diet, get a hair cut, and throw away the baseball cap?

Oh jonr Looks like we would make good strippers;)

Cut the roof off and make it even lighter. Now you have yourself the first Clio open top:)

If it rains, just put on a cagoule.

the cup racers are 900Kg. A standard cup is1020 or so. Rear seat/bench + child restraint system bar will remove 17Kg for starters, so I am running at approx 1000Kg. Fogs off soon, but thats not for weight, but air ducting to brakes.

The cup racers would have different gearbox, wheels, fuel cell etc (taking into account a roll cage weighs a little bit too) you will be quite hard pressed to match one for weight!

  Corsa 1.3 CDTI

Nobody mentioned the heater and heater matrix cause you aint gonna need that.

remove the washer bottle front and rear.

Rip out the powersteering and replace with a maual system (This will release some power as well due to no aux belt running to drive it)..

i was driving a Cup racer at Bedford on Tuesday - i spoke to one of the mechanics about it. it has same engine ecu is upgraded. Much better exzorst system runs between 180-185 BHP. Second time i have driven one had it on the track for 20 mins. Though it does run on LPG... Managed a time of 85.50 seconds round the west circuit. Not bad i thought. There is bugger all in it 2 seat & roll cage. Left hand drive & sequential box very hard to master at first when the palmer instructor is barking at you to floor it But the JP1 Jag fac me thats another story - .....How fast!! 0-100 in 6.8 Maclaren F1 fast Figures for the Cup racer are 0-60 4.1 0-100 10 secs 148mph. Only problem is it funs on semi road tyres not slicks & the rev limiter is set to 6.5 k not 8k like the Cup racers built for the race series - other than that exactly the same as each other.

Get a lightweight racing battery and ss exhaust.

Get rid of the Cat

lose the rear wiper and motor

Mats

Drill holes in anything that is not structural

Lightweigh tyres and magnesium wheels

Any unsprung weight removed counts as double weight saving.

Single wiper conversion

Passenger wing mirror

Sun shades

In the winter take out the cooling fan over the radiator

Fill tyres with helium instead of air

LoL, but totally impractical!

Dad sold his, real shame, but did sit in garage for most of the time. Was quick though, had 230bhp from an SBD 2.0 16v Vauxhall. Only weighed 550kg.

Take the wheels off and put a 1.0 Mini engine in!!!

Or

make the car completely out of carbon fibre!

What ya mean quick, that would be silly!

Caterham JPE had a de tuned John Clelland BTCC lump init making 230bhp dont know how much it weighed, but they did 0-100-0 in just over 8sec!!

haha was amusing, was roadlegal, did sprints, hillclimbs trackdays.

Destroyed most things on road!

But got to a certain speed and shed like aerodynamics stopped it accelerating

140ish i think.

*my spelling is bad*

Best idea so far Stromba, and in my case would save 98.4kg (weighed myself in Boots today - still a fat b*****d, then). However, what car would you drive in behind that could possibly keep up? Would your Volvo 340 1.7 (theyre ace) suffice?

Weld the doors shut remove the glass. Weught saved from having no locks and window moter and no door panels.

Front grill removed.

Run on low oil and petrol

Remove all dashboard.

Clean car.

Go comando or total naked if your brave enough.

Weld boot closed. Saving weight on locks and cabling.

Remove the underseal on the car.

Remove the mug guards.

Strip the paint of for that shiny metal look.

Remove eveny possible electric item central locking, alarm, radio, speakers, electric windows motors and wiring,

Replace all the remaining wire with thinner guage stuff and direclty root all the cable.

Remove the spoiler, side skirts, splitter.

Ligther smaller radiator. Who cares if the engine runs hot.

what about removing the bonnet? wouldnt that increase air intake or cool engine down? ror 1/4 miling it would be good - not so aerodynamic for the top speed though.
