i had a mazda rx7 pull up behind me at the train crossing, as we drove through the village he was getting right up my arse so once we were leaving the village i thought i would stick my foot down
left him way behind. went slow through a couple more villages and done the same again, left him behind every time!
only place he stood a chance was on a very long straight.
thought they were quicker than that

Surprised that he wasn't trying more like.
An rx7 (assuming it's the last shape) would tear a 182 to bits & then some.
Not sure about the bends etc (thats one for Iain C) but in a straight line, they are very quick.

but short straights and bends he was not keeping up.

and he was definatly trying.

Poorly RX7 is all I can think of, otherwise it would p*ss all over a 182 on any straight, either that or he had problems getting some power down...

doesnt matter if he couldnt really mate,to be fair if he said its an rx-7 who are we to say it wasnt? yes they should have a good 280 bhp but if it was a bad driver or a poorly one then the performance might be close,just saying this before it turns into another yes it was no it wasnt thread

you actually have no idea of how hard he was trying, you're assuming he was trying his hardest

he could very well have been driving at just the speed he wanted to, and that was slower than you

i accept that but the way he was driving was suggesting he wanted a race and he certainly was not haning about.
at the end of the day i really couldnt care what car is faster.
my point was if he was going flat out i expexted an rx7 to be faster than that. was wondering if anyone knew.
and im 99% sure it WAS an rx7

Why would it?

Aren't they like 1300+kg and about 240 hp? Sure it's a faster car and would win in the end, but it's not going to be driving round the outside of any keenly driven RS very easliy. You need a LOT of extra power to just nip round something under 100mph.

Didn't they do an auto too?
