Surround Sound, compatable with xbox and normal tv watching

Hi there,

I do not understand surround sounds etc, so naturally this isnt for me. Girlfriend wants a surround sound for her bedroom, that she can hook up to her xbox and it works when watching tv, not just with a dvd player.

​£200 Budget, possible? Any recomendations?

i have the dvd player surround sound and if you plug the cable straight into the tv then change the output then you can play it through all things plugged into your tv, if you do want a dvd player then you can just get a surround sound speaker system with a general control box, hope this helps...

depends on the outputs available on the tv? optical? headphone jack only?

If the tv has optical out then you could get a soundbar.
