Suspension doesn't feel right after tracking

I've just had my Sachs dampers refurbed and refitted on the Trophy. I got the tracking done at a local motorsport place who said it was toeing out 6 degrees, so now it's back to (1 and half I think he said).

My steering doesn't feel good. It handles amazingly, doesn't pull to either side and drives completely straight, however on motorways it feels as though the steering is too sensitive.

If I just tal the wheel to one side, it steers quite aggressively as if I've turned it more than I have. This makes it feel unstable at high speeds especially around motorway bends where it feels dangerous as the steering wheels is just TOO sensitive.

What could be the problem here?

Sounds like you've just got used to driving a car where the steering was heavy due to the tracking being out.

When I had the 1.2 I had the tracking done as it was miles out. Felt really unstable when straight. But I soon got used to it.

Running mad camber?

I agree with Welsh. I found the same when I got my clio tracked properly after lowering.

Driving a fucked up car for ages and now it's fixed and as it should be it don't feel like it should to you.
only real way to see if its ok is drive another one or get tracking and camber checked at another place.
my bets is its fine but prove me wrong.

Cheers lads. It really doesn't feel good at high speeds, as if the back end will fly out as soon as I tap the steering wheel to either side :( I'll have a drive of another and see how it feels. I'm hoping everything is fine as I'm at the Nurburgring as we speak!

If you have got 1 and a half DEGREES toe out then I can guarantee that is your issue! Do you mean mm? What alignment machine did they use? As some measure toe in minutes (60 mins to a degree) and some measure in mm

Wouldn't having 6 before be even worse though?

Oh yes it would I just thought he meant he had just refit the suspension and then taken it straight for alignment so wouldn't of got too much of an idea for handling and was just comparing it to before putting the Sachs back on. 6 degree's is a crazy amount of toe out though so not sure it is correct

  DON'T SEND ME PM'S!!
if it had 6 degrees toe out before it wouldn't have driven. I just took it as talking nonsense and that wasn't what the alignment guy said at all LOL

what did you do with the rear dampers when you had the front's refurbed?
Nothing, they're fine.

Just going off what I was told. All he said was it's laser alignment... I didn't have time to take it somewhere with a Hunters system.

Visually, it doesn't appear to be toeing out at all. Before I had the tracking done, the steering felt fine, now it's been done it feels really sensitive.

Could be your rear dampers Jamie, They may have leaked and you can only notice now that the fronts are stiffer. Sportlines might have added to that too. Just get under the back of the car and see if there are any leaks from the dampers.

If it feels overly sensitive good chance as mentioned by few of the guys it's the new toe. That you're not used to it. Mine felt same when I had it all set up to 'factory' after having had it setup in various ways (just before being as per standard Clio lol)

If you're not happy with it, id look at getting it set up with less toe out possibly.
