Swap my v6 for a 197?

i took it as the 197 was good for a to b but didn't stand out enough.

i think the op then said he didn't think the vee was special enough either. that was my take on his post tbh.

Even more reason to keep tbh! The mk1 doesn't do huge ammounts for me on looks, but compared to the 172/182/197 it's a no brainer to keep!

I'd have the vee any day! Whilst the 197 isn't a bad car. It's about as special as a day in matalan!

i'd keep the V6 too, its worth living with the impracticalities, its such a great car. The 197 is a fantastic car too, but i think you may regret the swap.

Tbh, 3/4 months ago when I was running about in the Vee and had it on tap during the summer I would probably have said go for a 197, better built, more practical and I expect damn lot cheaper to run.

Then last night after 3 months in the garage I got it out and drove it less than 50 metres down the lane out the back of my parents garage. Its awesome. The sound the feel of the rear wheels behind pushing you along. I've been in a 172 for the last month and tbh its boring and I can imagine a 197 being a dampend down version of that.

Keep the Vee. As I can not wait until the 1st april when its back on the road.

The best thing you could do with a V6 is chuck a sheet over it and keep it stored away for years.
In 10 or 20 years time its gonna be one of them all time great classics like an Rs200.

Seen one in red with stickers? and a silver one but after seein the silver in the metal its out for sure it really does look poor in that colour.

Wouldn't swap a Mk2 Vee for anything, but I'd consider swapping a Mk 1 for an R27 in LY. Having said that the blue Mk1 is very nice so I'm not sure.

I would have a drive and then make my mind up. No stigma in having a change - although the V6 will prob hold its value better as 197's have plummeted.
