That is a difficult one, I wouldn't want to be running two cars but I suppose a dci is only £35 a year tax and could you add another car to your insurance policy on the cheap?

If you could get this for £1000/1200 I'd be tempted. I'm sure the miles will put alot of people off but full service history and it looks to have been looked after. Same family from new too.

personally i think that anything over 18k a year deisels start to make sense your doing around 28k a year so weigh up costs on keeping 182 on limited milage and a 2nd diesel car if you can afford it and love the 182 that much or sell 182 plus a little bit of cash and get a really nice audi/bmw motoway muncher that can be fun when you want it to be........330d coupe etc

You should move closer to work tbf, that is if you're planning on staying with the company..!

Cant imagine it would fair up well if you slept in lol (in which case you would need a 182) lol

Have you thought about replacing the 182 with a Fabia VRS or Ibiza Cupra TDI. Both great diesel hot hatches. They're not as fast or handle as well as the 182, but it's a good compromise. You should get 50+ mpg out of them if you take it easy and they remap well.

I'd move away from a Clio to be honest. Get yourself a Mondeo or something. You can get them easily for the price your 182 will be worth and have a much better cruiser.

What puts me off the dci's is that they tend to break, things go wrong with them that routeen maintenance doesn't put off such as injector problems etc.

My gf's mum has had hers since new done about 50K in 6 years, always serviced etc and she's had a few decent bills, the last one being £500 which was alternator, injectors and something else.

Thats not a huge amount of miles! Does your work pay for fuel if you get a diesel?

TBH, buy a cheap diesel as a second car. Doesn't need to be a clio either.
