Swapping ECU to bypass immobiliser?

A member messaged me pointing towards this thread:

His brothers car was broken into 2 minutes from me, they also ripped the bonnet up and tried stealing the ECU.

After a little speculation on RSUK and a google search it seems some cars immobilisers can be bypassed by swapping the ECU.

Does anyone know if this is the case with the 200?

Code a new key in will make the other keys inoperable, to actually steal a sport you would need to change uch/ecu and key as they are all matched.
A few hours work.
Even recode your existing key will make any others not coded in at the same time inoperable.

Some companys can bypass the immobiliser on the ecu but your looking at 48 hour minimum turn around.
