Swapping Pre-tensioners

  172 Cup
Last night I swapped my standard cup seats for the Recaro's out of my old cup. Now obviously these were involved in the crash and the passenger side pre-tensioner has fired.

I didn't actually notice this till I put them in my new cup and now the SERV light and the Airbag/Seatbelt lights are on.

If I replace my pre-tensioner will these go out or will the Airbag computer think that there has been an accident and ill have to fork out stupid amounts to get it reset?

Any help appreciated and a guide on replacing or info is ideal.

Cheers

You should be fine as it wasnt that Airbag comp in that car that fired them.

Simply remove the battery.

Replace the fired pre-tensioner and that should resolve your problem.

Better Guide:

1) Remove Battery

2) Allow minimum 30mins to discharge/settle.

3) un-bolt pre-tensioner from seat and unclip from wiring loom under seat.

4) Replace with un-fired pre-tensioner.

5) Connect up loom

6) Re-connect battery.

That should be it.
