Swedish trackday HD video with a Clio 182

Brakes got pretty toasty there didnt they?! Are they just standard or uprated pads and discs?

No fade at all actually, running 30min at a time.

Brakes are full race spec. Ferodo DS3000 front and rear, Brembo max discs, brake cooling through front ducts, braided lines and race fluid.
This track is very hard on the brakes, after the long straight im braking downhill from 180km/h to 70km/h on 120-140meters.

Imagen how a standard setup will handle race pace on such a track...

Yes it sounds great, we experimented with a few new angles today that makes the sound of both the Clio and the Exige better justice. It was on public roads and we gave the cars some propper hell so I wount post that on youtube :D Stay tuned, next trackday in a week will post more videos with the new angles then.

Video looks awesome mate :) Love the glowing brakes! Hope you and the car are well Mårten

We certainly are James, glad you like the video.

Only wish I had a more power, damn that Exige is fast. Still beat him in the corners though :D Upgrades for this year was 16" wheels, -4,1 front camber and harder springs (120/140N/mm) It is a total success the car is just awsome in the corners just grip grip grip no understeer as before.

Love your project, car looking very good indeed. Hope you get a good racing season

All the best / M

That was really nice, some great camera angles, especailly the one looking straight at the front wheel! (8:30 mins - 9 mins). Nice driving too :)

Glad to hear it :)

Yes but you are certainly doing pretty well against it, I thought that myself when watching the video :D They are great round the corners these cars! We have still got the exciting bit to come of trying to find the optimum setup for the car but I think that can be a job left until winter for me :) Your's looks epic through the corners, good work!

Thank you Mårten!

Best Wishes
James

Ive got a few tips from one of the best concerning the setup, ex WTCC race engineer now one of the top men in Öhlins. May be able to share a thing or two ;)

Wow very nice mate :) That would be much appreciated, I will drop you a message nearer winter when we are going to focus on it and see if you want to divulge any secrets ;) Thanks again and I look forward to seeing the future video's :D

Sorry if someone is waiting for the new video, trackday was cancelled because of snow :S

Next trackday aint untill may, but it will be worth the wait I can assure you.
Several new tracks will be driven just in May and it will be quite hectic tbh.
Besides from the new tracks I have been selected among a few to participate in a Gran Turismo Events trackday. That meens some if the fastest supercars in the country on my home track along with my clio. That will be fun, dont think Ill have much in a straight line against the UndergroundRacing Gallardo I know will participate. But Im counting on a fair amount of scalps ;) so much fun to be the underdog. :D

Subscribe! You know you want it :D

Safety I think. Its more to stop people sticking them on the inside of the car as they can become detached in an accident and then become a rather heavy missile bouncing around inside the cabin.

It does all become a bit redundant though when they let someone out with a phone gaffer taped to the rear view mirror or something

The official line in the UK is that cameras must be 'mechanically' attached, so with mounts screwed in or bolted on.

That's probably my favourite 182 video. Car looks set up so well, looks such a joy to drive! Wish I could start messing with suspension and geometry setup but my limited knowledge/funds and the fact the car is my daily makes me think twice :(

Awesome track too!!

Thanks mate :)

Ill be happy to share info about suspension and geometry nothing secret about it really. One thing is certain though this is not a car if you are after comfort its very rough indeed.

Very nice Marten, the front wheel angle is my favourite. That exige sounds ace :approve: Nippy little buggers aren't they ;)
