Swirl marks are driving me crazy

  Elise S1 B&C 140
I recently (about 4 weeks ago) had my car PC'd by Jay who did a fantastic job and it looked mint.

Unfortunately the dreaded swirl marks an marring are starting to return already.

I am using a Meguirs wash Mitt, the two bucket method with Turtle wax wash and wax. and drying with meguires microfibre cloth.

Also after cleaning i use meguires NXT spray wax to keep a healthy wax finish (every other time).

The gloss finish of the paint looks great but in certain angles the swirls are starting to return.where am i going wrong with this, they polish out easy enough by hand using SRP but its a bit of a pain in the ar8e to have to polish the marks out after every wash.

All the cleaning equipment mentioned is practically brand new so is not worn or pitted with dirt etc.

PLease help.

yes, but its not long before they return, there isn't much you can do to truely prevent them re-occuring. Not unless you are truely anal about things.

Yes, the quest for flawless paint is ultimately a trade off.

Drive it and enjoy the car to its full or never drive it and polish the arse of it.

I do my best to keep mine looking mint but its by no way mint really :( Still don't exactly look s**t though lol.

Where they removed 100% in the first place, or did the products used hide them ?

Getting and keeping a totally swirl free finish is nigh on impossible. Most though are created at the washing and drying stage, mainly the latter. Even using Microfiber drying towels was marring mine. Aquagleam Filtered water and not having to dry the car has helped.

Megs drying towels have been slated by people for the marring it causes.

Yep agree. I fould mine was being marred by the Megs drying towel. I then switched to a sonus microfibre towel, and even that still marred. I now 'blot' the car dry with the sonus towel. Very time consuming, but much better. I will by a water filter come spring, as i think now with winter coming it'll just be wasted. Also a good point by rich about the products used. Some wax's etc will hide swirls for a month or so anyway, so its possible you just never noticed to start with.

Its worth it ;)

There are more serious candidates who need locking up first who live next to me...............

I had lots of swirls from using t-cut..
not that iv tried much else but super resin auto glym softened them out.

Not surprised that is the problem with T-Cut, removes deeper marks while installing s**t loads of fine ones.
