If there was an ideal "shopping list" for this procedure, what would it be?

Touch-up pen w/mixed laquer(?)
Some of those small sanding pads, shown above
2500 grit
3000 grit
QD

Missing anything?

I also have a G220 which i'll be using to correct. SFX1 pad and some cutting compound? I have a few brands.

Thanks

First time user Chris, I'd suggest:

Megs 2500 Grit
Megs 4000 Grit
Megs Backing Black (which you can cut up into smaller pieces)
Lots of washing up liquid and water

Then, as you say, touch up with G220 and SFX1 and a polishing pad (SFX2 if you have Sonus pads)

Any lower than 2500/2000 grit and you can inflict some serious damage if you don't go easy, and there's no need to use anything more coarse on paint. Then, once flat, refine with the 4000, which leaves marks which are a lot easier to remove.

Trick is, keeping it lubed up (as it were) and keeping the paper flat. Level off the 'blob' with the rest of the paint, then polish up. Job done!
