Tamron 70-300mm F4/5.6 DI LD Macro (Canon AF)

  106 GTi
I have used my mates version on a 350D quality seemed akin to the Sigma one which retails around the same price. Worked ok for the track session at Combe I used it on, focuses quick enough and reasonable sharpness.

Brown.

Whats reasonalble sharpness ??? what are you comparing it to ??^^

At the time to my Sigma 70-300mm F4-5.6 Macro DG - now to shots taken with either a Canon 70-200mm f4L and Canon 300mm f4L

  1.2 Dynamique billabong
ive got one of these though managed to pick it up for £100 rather £199 as my mate got it with his 30d and i paid the extra.
it isnt a bad lens, the image quality is quite good and the autofocus is reasonably quick if you are photographing objects at a similar distance (ie the same corner at motorsports). the initial focusing or searching can be slow though. im not sure i would pay £200 for it. i would probably recommend the canon 70-300 usm mk3 which is a similar price, but as mine was only £100 im not complaining

Cheers guys, will look at the Canon stuff.

This one has come recommended from a friend; Canon EF-S 55-250mm F4-5.6 IS

I know I could get it cheeper than Jessops though... Forgot how difficult choosing lenses can be!

or look on eBay for Hong Kong sellers or stick 'Kerso' into google. I get my gear from him. Cheaper if you e-mail him.. http://stores.ebay.co.uk/FLASH-CAMERA

For another 100 notes you are into 70-200 F4L territory or might be able to get one second hand.
