TCE Querey

  LY 220 Trophy+IB PH1
Hi, All

Just woundering about the compression ratios of the Clio TCE, I believe it's 9.80:1 and mine is 10.00:1 - is this a massive diffrence ?
Anybody tried sticking a TCE on a 1.4 or a 1.6 before and what kind of gains (Im guessing around 20/25 ish and a bit of torque)

This is not something im really looking to do to my main car, but i have the oppertunity to obtain another 1.4 for dirt cheap and im tempted to get it for the track but It's a bit down on the BHP.
Any thought's ? :)

Theres always the camp that will say "too costly for the gains". They do talk sense.

But If you forget rational thought for a minute, it sounds a great idea. Where you thinking just pull the head off and drop it on your 1.4? I think you'll be hard pushed to find a head. Better off with a whole engine.....then theres the injectors that are pretty much maxxed from stock....then theres the management which could end up restrictive....

all things considered. I'd say leave it and get a MK1 :D

Yeah, I expected it would cost a fortune but then I thought low compression turbo's should need a little less work :p The car in question is a whole car, shell, engine etc and i'm sure with a bit of patience and ebay I can grab some part's pretty cheap. Injectors is a fair point I hadn't considered, maybe the 1.6 injectors... i'm not sure. I was just worried about detonation mainly :) I could also get it mapped although i'm not sure how far I could go on the standard ecu.

And I would love a Williams :p Insurance and a bowt of rust are saying no to that at the moment >.<
